Hi, I’m Heather McCarel —

I help women 40+ lose stubborn weight, reduce peri-menopause symptoms, and feel like themselves again.

My own midlife story didn’t start with “doing everything right.”
It started with being exhausted, overweight, stressed, and coping the only way I knew how — late nights, after-work happy hours, pushing through heavy and painful periods, and ignoring the signs my body was giving me. I was dealing with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, Hashimoto’s, and a level of fatigue that felt impossible to shake.

One day, I just hit a wall.
I remember thinking: “I can’t keep feeling like this.”
So I joined a New Year’s Fitness Challenge… and for the first time in a long time, I stayed committed.

As I trained and stayed consistent, I started noticing something interesting: the men were hitting their goals faster, while most of the women — myself included — were working just as hard but seeing slower, more frustrating progress. It made me wonder: why is this so much harder for women? And why does no one prepare us for this shift in midlife?

That curiosity became a turning point. I realized that women’s hormones, metabolism, and stress response work differently throughout their menstrual cycles and — especially in perimenopause. And once I began aligning my workouts, habits, and recovery with my biology instead of fighting against it, everything started to make sense.

That discovery is what led me to become a Certified Menopause & Women’s Coaching Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer.

Today, my coaching blends science, strength training, hormone literacy, and real midlife experience to help women work with their bodies — not against them — so they can lose weight, reduce symptoms, and feel strong, clear, and confident in this next chapter.
